“The Bear” is that rare show that posts consistently high scores with both audiences and critics; Season 2 posted a 99% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes along with a 92% audience score and a 92 on Metacritic (marking it under “Universal Acclaim”). And it’s not just a highly-regarded show, but a heavily-watched one: the Season 2 premiere was the single biggest debut for any FX series on Hulu ever, a list which also includes “Welcome to Wrexham,” “Fleishman Is In Trouble,” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
While it may not be surprising, though, it’s still encouraging. With numerous popular, well-regarded series getting canceled as streaming services condense their output, it’s good to see a unique show like “The Bear” going strong. Heck, maybe in the third season, we’ll finally get to see what happens when Carmine Berzatto and crew aren’t one short step from the restaurant closing (or even burning) down.
